Body Comp.

So, in the post I will be comparing two lace bodies, one from a mid-market department store and the other from a specialist lingerie retailer.

H&M v.s VICTORIA SECRET


Victoria Secret
£50 appox
The Fit- The fit was perfect with this garment due to offering a back and cup size unlike the H&M body. The length of the body fitted me perfectly. The garment looks lovely underneath clothing, the fabric smooths over the skins and feels luxurious to wear.

The Style - The style is gorgeous, I love this vintage style bra type (how the cup continues gradually into the strap). However there is less support in the cup due to it being an under-wire. The lace trimmings on the bra top and bottom is divine; however I don't particularity like the lace in the body, it reminds me of the cheap lace offered at cheaper retailers.The 4 rubber garter straps complete the body lovely; the detachable gusset mean the body can be worn with stockings and the gusset undone ;)

The Quality - Beautiful craftsmanship, no unfinished seam and not straggely thread. Packaged lovely an the material isn't irritative.

H&M

The Fit - European sizes, I had to go for a size 40 for the cup sizeto fit, however, this meant the material over the tummy was a tad big with extra material! So the fit isn't perfect, however H&M are not specialists in underwear so therefore might not be worth while offering a range of sizes. The padded cup give support and looks lovely underclothes (acts like a t-shirt bra).

The Style - I love the mixture of fabrics, the lace and polka combination is pretty (reminds me of the Victoria Secret SS15 collection I posted later last year). I don't so much like the lace detail on the straps, it makes the garment look tacky. I paired this body with plain topped vintage hold ups as more lace would potentially be too much!

The Quality - Both of the garments have washed lovely in a delicate wash, however, I predict the H&M body will last less time than the VC body due to cheaper material. There are also a few bits of thread uncut.

In conclusion, I prefer the VC body due to the fit and style. However, I would love the VC body even more if the fabric design was the same as the H&M body; i adore the polka dots! You cannot argue with the H&M price however its worthwhile investing in underwear due to it lasting longer!
