"My name is Katniss Everdeen. I am 17 years old. I was in the Hunger Games. I escaped."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1.

I was ecstatic when I found out the new 'Hunger Games' film is due to be released on the 20th November. The books were the only really series I committed to and the films brought the emotion to life. Anyone I know will tell you I'm a sucker for dystopian post-apocalyptic science fiction films! I love questioning reality and imagining what would happen to the world as a result of certain events.... pretty deep huh?

I admire Katniss Everdeen, she represents a role model for influential young women. Miss Everdeen is strong willed, supportive of her family and sacrifices herself for the sake of others. She's clean faced and naturally pretty with her iconic braids. She's had to fight for her success, not just born into wealth. Yes, the story involves romantic relationships but also features the serious reality of politics and press. The books also makes us think about hard hitting topics such a commercial greed and conformity.

I was also catching up with the Premier in London on the 10th November. The actors and actresses looked both fierce and chic. Designers from Dior to Schiaparelli. Personally, I feel the best dressed was the gorgeous Elizabeth Banks wearing an Elie Saab Fall 2014 couture gown. The gown had a beautiful plunge neck and was lightly frosted in beads. Graduations of floral colours from fuchsia and petal pink into a light lavender. The fabric at the back of the garment continued into a trail giving the gown drama. Accessories, hair and make up were kept nice and simple complimenting the dress. A nice contrast to Bank's character, Effie Trinket, who sports typical elaborate capital attire.

For me, The Mockingjay- Part 1 could most definitely be the film to watch of 2014!
