Topshop New year edit: Shine bright, 12 o'clock at night
Here is my first shot at styling some of my favourite pieces from the Topshop website! Anything fur at the moment is everywhere! Fur wrap over bag, fur pompom shoes, fur trimmed co-ords, EVERYWHERE! Since the summer and all white outfit has been very chic,so why not extend the look to New years eve? White- clean slate, new beginnings. Matched with metallic and iridescent accessories to shine bright in the busy crowds.
All Topshop:
Dress-'Feather Hem Slip Dress' (ivory) £55
Shoes-'Rabbit Faux Fur Fluffy Sandals' (off white) £58
Bag -'Sequin Pouch Bag' (white) £15
Choker-'Tear-drop Rhinestone Choker' (clear) £14.50
Lippy -'Lips In Drive' (cyber purple) £8
"My name is Katniss Everdeen. I am 17 years old. I was in the Hunger Games. I escaped."
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part
1.
I was
ecstatic when I found out the new 'Hunger Games' film is due to be released on
the 20th November. The books were the only really series I committed to and the
films brought the emotion to life. Anyone I know will tell you I'm a sucker
for dystopian post-apocalyptic science fiction films!
I love questioning reality and imagining what would happen to the world as a
result of certain events.... pretty deep huh?
I admire
Katniss Everdeen, she represents a role model for influential young women. Miss Everdeen is strong willed, supportive of her family and sacrifices herself for the
sake of others. She's clean faced and naturally pretty with her iconic braids. She's had to fight for her success, not just born into wealth. Yes,
the story involves romantic relationships but also features the serious reality of
politics and press. The books also makes us think about hard hitting topics
such a commercial greed and conformity.
I was also
catching up with the Premier in London on the 10th November. The actors and
actresses looked both fierce and chic. Designers from Dior to Schiaparelli.
Personally, I feel the best dressed was the gorgeous Elizabeth Banks wearing an
Elie Saab Fall 2014 couture gown. The gown had a beautiful plunge
neck and was lightly frosted in beads. Graduations of floral colours
from fuchsia and petal pink into a light lavender. The fabric at
the back of the garment continued into a trail giving the gown drama. Accessories, hair and make up were kept nice and simple complimenting the dress. A nice
contrast to Bank's character, Effie Trinket, who sports typical elaborate
capital attire.
For me, The Mockingjay- Part 1 could most definitely be the film to watch of 2014!

Re-vamp
A new year at university calls for a revamp! For anyone confused where 'one last bohemian' went, well, it's here! I've imported the old blog on to this new and fresh look! I felt I needed to move away from purely bohemian fashion and more towards a general historical fashion base. I have a passion for all past fashion from 1920's onwards. I wish discover past style icons, fashion fads and how to fashion constantly invented it's self! The refreshed blog will offer an engaging range of tutorials, discussions, product reviews and personal riff raff. I will dip into current trends and designers at keeping with the times is crucial in the industry, but hey what wrong with a little blast from the past?
Enjoy 💌
